clouds are a favorite thing of mine…especially when they are heavy and moody!

    • I’m working on it…will have to get out and take more photos! Thanks…

  2. The second photo is my favorite. A couple of things might have made this image better though. 1) Moving either left or right so that the palm is not in the direct line of sight of the end of the pier and 2) watch your borders, there is a post in the lower part of your image. Hope these tips help you out Heather.

    • lol…they do indeed help Mark…thank you for taking the time to point them out to me…honestly I didn’t see the position of the palm nor the post at the bottom until you pointed them out…or they just didn’t register. Either way I obviously wasn’t paying enough attention…the reminder is helpful…thanks again!

      • Scott Kelby calls this “border patrol”. During capture and processing, he has taught me to always look on the edge of my frame for detracting elements and for things that just don’t belong.

Heather, I am glad you take constructive criticism well. We really get nothing from all our friends telling us how great our photographs are. I want to grow as a photographer and get better by others letting me know what I could have done better.

      • “border patrol”…I like that. I visit more experienced photographer’s websites to learn. When I’m given constructive criticism from one of these photographers such as yourself, it is very much appreciated they/you took the time to view my photos and help me by making a comment. I can’t improve on something unless I’m aware improvement is possible…

  3. really like the third image, esp its composition. I think you may have a spot on your lens, I can see a strange mark about half way up on the left third of the image. To make the image stronger I would boost the saturation and contrast slightly. Hope your keeping well.

    • Hey Ben…thanks for visiting…I was wondering about the spot myself…sometimes I notice a tiny spot and sometimes I don’t…will take a closer look. Thank you for your suggestions Ben, always helpful and appreciated! I’m good, busy though…will stop by!

      • Yeah we are all busy at the moment. I am prepping my Final Year middle school class for a theater production at the moment and it is my main focus. Though it is better to be busy than not.

  4. Heather, you sure find interesting clouds to post. I enjoy them too. When I was a kid I’d spend part of summer afternoons watching them create all kinds of characters.
