Reticulated Python…

Kaa, is a 19ft. 191 lbs., Reticulated Python found at the Naples Zoo.   The enclosure looks small for this lady, but it was new in June of 2015.   While these snakes are large and strong enough to kill an adult human they are nonvenomous constrictors who are generally not considered dangerous to humans…attacks are rarely reported.   The photo is cropped thin due to the reflection of the glass in the photo, which was distracting and taking away from this magnificent specimen.

  1. Wow! What a massive creature. That must take some feeding. I agree with you that the enclosure looks very small for such a large snake.

    • Isn’t she incredible…and can you imagine there is another Python living in their with her, a smaller one at 10 ft. Thi particular species must be comfortable in confined spaces otherwise I’m not sure why the Zoo would construct such a small area…having said all that I’m wondering if that is the viewing are area as I know there is a small door at her head where the snakes can go through??
