converted and not…

I’ve recently converted a number of color photos to black & white…when the shot works I find it very appealing.

below is from the same beach as the duck family the other day…there were 4 different families in the area, the one on the shore I’ve already posted, this one family…the other two sets were too far away to take photo…moma.babies.3.2013

  1. I think that B/W enhances photos like these, maybe too much of the same colour makes the colour detract from the image..

    • I agree with you… I do find the photo has to have a great deal of shadow & light play for b & w to work though…

      • You should have a try with Lightbox Free, (http://www.sagelighteditor.com/downloadfree.html)
        It is a lot easier to use in this respect than photoscape to get the shadow and detail to show.. The hidden photo is HDR but then enhanced vfurther in Lightbox..

  4. I really like the second photo. The ducks create a clearly defined subject and balances well with the background landscape.
