weed? it is a herb!

I saw this the other day during my fall color tour…don’t know what it is but thought it pretty.  I started out with a cropped version of this but then changed my mind…the full view is more interesting…I’ll do a crop another time.

weed.2013FYI...a friend to mine passed along the info it is a herb called Tansy…you can find out more info about it here…  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tansy    The tiny heads are yellow before they are dried…I did a search and found info and photos of it and realized I’m used to seeing the herb before it is dried…it looks different once dried…

  1. This looks like a “Joe Pye Weed” when it’s about to go to seed. It’s so hard to tell, because they look so different when in bloom, but the leaves are the same, I think. I love this shot. 🙂

    • Maybe… I just looked them up, and the leaves may be too narrow for a Joe Pye. It’s lovely all the same. 🙂

      • Oh, I have read about Tansy, I haven’t seen it before and never seen around my place. Can be used as face wash?… It is interesting! unfortunately it was not told if this herb can cure the wrinkles on the face.

      • I tend to 3/4 crop if at all, probably a bit old school..

      • it depends on the photo for me…I was thinking a close up of this might be cool, but changed my mind…for other photos I try to do as little as possible…sometimes just doesn’t work with out a photo being cropped…I’m still learning what works and doesn’t work when composing a shot…

      • Composition, thats the thing..
