more green with a splash of white…

Someone questioned me about the lack of snow…we have lots, but I’ve not been able to venture out to take photos , so for now I will post photos I’ve taken in the past few years. Some I’ve posted before, some I haven’t…

A Sunflower kind of day…

do you know?

I like this bush with the red berries on it but have to admit I don’t know what it is…do you?  When I look closely it looks as though there was a flower at the end.   Is this a seed pod?

color…

Fall is upon us here, the changing of the leaves are almost completed…I’ve glimpsed the process but not had much chance to photograph it this season.  How about these for some color?   I love cut flowers in my home, usually have a bouquet of something…right now it is a couple of the pumpkin arrangements, but they are wilting fast.

I’ve been around…

I’ve been taking photos since the spring, but they have been different than what I usually take…for the most part the photos have been of veggies, fruit, artisan items and people.   I’m still not happy with my photos of people, but will persevere.

I’ve not posted nor visited much as time was limited for me.   That is coming to an end this week as the North Bay Farmers’ Market last day is this Saturday.   I intend to be around more at least I hope so!  It will be nice to take photos of landscapes, the lake, trees, etc., again.

Tussock Moth Caterpillar…

Found this fellow last Saturday, I have to admit that in all my years, I don’t remember ever seeing one of these fellows before?  It is actually very pretty…

I found the following information on this website:   http://pets.squidoo.com/caterpillar-identification

“These cool-looking caterpillars produce a quite plain and inconspicuous moth. They eat almost anything, including a number of decorative trees like hawthorn that cities tend to plant along roads and in plazas. Tussock moth caterpillars get their name from the little tufts of fur along their backs; apparently these are called “tussocks” in some parts of the world.”

finally…

the growing season in my area is behind due to cold wet weather…but the produce is finally beginning to arrive at the North Bay Farmers’ Market.  These shots are from both the Saturday and Wednesday Markets last week.  Raspberries, snow peas, peppers,  cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and red and blue potatoes.

So happy to see the raspberries, they are my favorite…

here are the blue and red potatoes one of our vendor grows, apparently they are high in anti oxidants…and delicious in a potato salad!

last but not least, plump red cherry tomatoes…

wild…

I’ve taken a liking to “wild flowers’…those that are planted to appear to have no pattern but actually were planted with care to produce such an appearance!

coincidental!

Purchased this rose on Wednesday at the Market…I gave the flower lady a vase and said put in it what you want, came back a while later and this part of what she put in it!  Coincidental!v.yellow.rose.4.2014,,,

yellow…

I’ve never been a fan of yellow…never, but I recently saw photos of a wedding and the flowers, bridesmaid dress, etc., was yellow…I have to admit it was beautiful.  So in honor of yellow…

dramatized!

I didn’t care for colors in this photo, they were very dull, but I really loved the cloud formations.  Someone told me never to delete a photo that I didn’t like…to work with it, there might be something that can be done to it to improve the appearance…so I gave it a bit of color to dramatize it!  I don’t usually do that to photos but I like it much better…

yellow, green & abandoned

I’ve been busy…I’ve taken on the job of Market Manager for our local Market, which is two days a week…it takes up a great deal of time.  I have a many photos and will post some one of these days but for now, here is another abandoned building.  I love the contrast of the old buildings with the green and yellow!   Again, this was taken from my vehicle on the way to Sudbury…don’t worry my son was driving!

to Sudbury…

My daughter and I went to Sudbury yesterday, which is about 1.5 hours west of North Bay…the colors are pretty much yellows, browns and rusts now…the beautiful reds are gone!  Even at that there isn’t a great deal of color…drive.tosudbury.2013

happy new year!

I wondered what I should post for my first in 2013…I decided on a photo of two of the views I love most…a sunset on lake nipissing.  This was taken a few years ago…sunset...2010 (600 x 400)
