lovely lily…

I spotted these lovely purple crocuses at the waterfront last week…same day I photographed the ice moving.

Date Palm…
This was an interesting trip, I learned new, interesting info while away…no I didn’t know these were Date Palms!

Ginger flower…
I have to admit, I’ve seen these flowers for years and never knew what they were called…Ginger flower.

Chinese Hibiscus
I’ve simply called this flower a hibiscus but apparently it has a grander name…”Chinese Hibiscus”…the leaf of this plant is lovely in it’s own right!
I’ve returned from Florida and have just gotten to my photos. They will be in random order depending on what I get to next. Here is a fellow we found at the Naples Zoo. I’ve been to the zoo a couple of times and enjoy the fact it is small and hasn’t been overly busy when we have been there making it relatively easy to observe the zoo residents…fyi…all my photos taken this trip were with my iPhone it was just easier to carry around.

more green with a splash of white…
Someone questioned me about the lack of snow…we have lots, but I’ve not been able to venture out to take photos , so for now I will post photos I’ve taken in the past few years. Some I’ve posted before, some I haven’t…

serenity…
This photo was taken a couple of years ago, while on our Friday early morning drive to the Rosseau Market. I was not driving, hence the photo! It is a tad blurry but I like the photo non the less!

crazy clouds
If you visit my blog at all you will know I’m fascinated by clouds…this photo was taken Oct. 10th., last day of the Market. It was difficult to make the photo presentable as the sun was very bright. I cropped most of it out as I wanted the cloud formation to be the focal…

hanging in there…
I took this photo last week…while the flowers aren’t anything special I couldn’t resist as these hardy flowers are holding on regardless of the onset of fall! Having said that two days later we had snow, it is gone now but was cold for a few days…not sure how these flowers fared?
do you know?
I like this bush with the red berries on it but have to admit I don’t know what it is…do you? When I look closely it looks as though there was a flower at the end. Is this a seed pod?
I’ve been around…
I’ve been taking photos since the spring, but they have been different than what I usually take…for the most part the photos have been of veggies, fruit, artisan items and people. I’m still not happy with my photos of people, but will persevere.
I’ve not posted nor visited much as time was limited for me. That is coming to an end this week as the North Bay Farmers’ Market last day is this Saturday. I intend to be around more at least I hope so! It will be nice to take photos of landscapes, the lake, trees, etc., again.
finally…
the growing season in my area is behind due to cold wet weather…but the produce is finally beginning to arrive at the North Bay Farmers’ Market. These shots are from both the Saturday and Wednesday Markets last week. Raspberries, snow peas, peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and red and blue potatoes.
So happy to see the raspberries, they are my favorite…
don’t these look delicious…
here are the blue and red potatoes one of our vendor grows, apparently they are high in anti oxidants…and delicious in a potato salad!
last but not least, plump red cherry tomatoes…
wild…
I’ve taken a liking to “wild flowers’…those that are planted to appear to have no pattern but actually were planted with care to produce such an appearance!
yellow…
I’ve never been a fan of yellow…never, but I recently saw photos of a wedding and the flowers, bridesmaid dress, etc., was yellow…I have to admit it was beautiful. So in honor of yellow…
I have some daises in a vase right now…
lovely…
When I went for a walk yesterday morning I spotted this in my neighbor’s garden, lovely fuchsia peonies…I noticed today the rest of the buds have opened, but I didn’t have my camera or phone with me…I may go back and take a few photos.
yellow, green & abandoned
I’ve been busy…I’ve taken on the job of Market Manager for our local Market, which is two days a week…it takes up a great deal of time. I have a many photos and will post some one of these days but for now, here is another abandoned building. I love the contrast of the old buildings with the green and yellow! Again, this was taken from my vehicle on the way to Sudbury…don’t worry my son was driving!
touches of green…
simplistic I know, but I really liked how the evergreen trees popped through what appears to be a tangled mess of white trees…
I know some are Birch trees, but don’t know what the rest are, they almost look like they are dead or dying.
white…
I love tulips…wish we were able to enjoy them longer, the petals on these were already beginning to pull apart…
